VFX Artist (Unreal Engine) – Remote | Equity-Based

Antebellum Digital Softwares Ltd is a UK-based startup focused on game and software development. We aim to empower emerging talent—students, graduates, and aspiring technologists by giving them a platform to learn, grow, and create real impact through collaborative projects.

We’re looking for a Visual Effects (VFX) Artist to join our game development team. If you’re passionate about creating stunning real-time effects and enjoy experimenting with tools like Unreal Engine and Houdini, we’d love to have you on board.

This role is strictly for beginners or early-stage creators.
We're not hiring professionals; we’re looking for people who are just starting, but have a creative spark and are eager to learn and contribute.

What You'll Do

  • Create real-time VFX (e.g., fire, spells, explosions, weather, ambient effects) for gameplay and cinematics

  • Use Unreal Engine’s Niagara VFX system to build, refine, and implement visual effects

  • Collaborate with other artists and developers to make sure the effects support the game’s style and performance

  • Experiment, learn, and iterate in a supportive development environment

What We're Looking For

  • A beginner just starting in VFX, no industry experience needed

  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine’s VFX workflow (Niagara system)

  • An individual exploring or open to learning Houdini for procedural effects

  • A creative and curious mind that’s willing to try, fail, and improve

  • Something to show, whether it’s a school project, personal experiment, or even unfinished work (we value potential over polish)

Compensation

This is an equity-based opportunity. Full details will be provided to shortlisted candidates.

Location

This role is fully remote. We welcome candidates from anywhere, as long as you can collaborate and communicate clearly.
